Dr. Yao Junmei is an associate professor and master's thesis supervisor at the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Shenzhen University. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology and her doctorate from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is recognized as a high-level overseas talent under the "Peacock Plan" of Shenzhen Municipality. Her main research interests are in smart Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile computing.

Dr. Yao has published over thirty high-quality papers, with her research findings primarily appearing in top international journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC), IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and IEEE Internet of Things Journal, as well as leading conferences such as IEEE PERCOM, IEEE ICDCS, and IEEE ICNP. Her work was awarded the Second Prize for Excellent Paper by the Guangdong Computer Society in 2022. Some of her research outcomes have been compiled into an English monograph titled "Cross-Technology Coexistence Design for Wireless Networks." She has been granted one U.S. patent and multiple Chinese patents, successfully transferring one patent.

She has led several projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's General Program and Youth Fund projects, with a total funding of nearly 4 million RMB. Under her guidance, five master's students have graduated, each with publications in high-quality journals and recipients of first-class and second-class scholarships from the college. The teams she has guided in the China Higher Education Institution Computer Competition - Network Technology Challenge have won second prizes in the South China region and first prizes in the national round. In 2022, she was honored as a Rising Star Graduate Supervisor at Shenzhen University.
