Professor Zhang Liangjie, a national-level expert, is a Distinguished Professor at the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering of Shenzhen University, Director of the Center for AI Services Computing, Head of the Software Engineering Department, and doctoral supervisor for the Ph.D. programs in Computer Science and Technology and Electronic Information (Generative AI and AIGC). Currently, his research and industrial practice focus on generative artificial intelligence (AIGC), new-generation internet software and service architecture, interactive online audio-visual services, industrial internet, and digital transformation of enterprises.
Zhang obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from Xidian University in 1990, a Master of Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1992, and a Doctor of Engineering in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Control from Tsinghua University in 1996. He has served as a visiting professor at prestigious universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Wuhan University, Chongqing University, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, as well as a special professor at Shenzhen University. His courses include "Service Computing," "Internet Business Technology," "Blockchain and Business Applications," "Computer Ethics," and "Ethics of Artificial Intelligence." He is an active practitioner and innovator in deeply integrating AIGC and large language models into education.
Zhang is the founding editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (CCF-A, a top journal in the software field), deputy editor-in-chief and senior consultant of China Communications, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Fellow, 2011), Distinguished Scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM, 2009), foreign academician of the Ukrainian National Academy of Engineering, and one of the first outstanding speakers of the China Computer Federation. He was selected as a national expert in 2012 and a leading talent in Guangdong Province. He has held positions including Senior Researcher at IBM Watson Research Center, Founding Director of the IBM Service Computing Department, Chief Architect of Standards for IBM's industrial sectors, and various executive roles at Kingdee International Software Group.
He concurrently serves as a project consultant for the Macao Special Administrative Region's Science and Technology Development Fund, President of the Shenzhen Entrepreneurship and Innovation Federation, an expert in innovation areas of the Shenzhen Special Pilot Demonstration Zone, Chairman of the Shenzhen Big Data Industry-University-Research Alliance, and a member of the Expert Advisory Committee for the Big Data Industry in Guizhou Province. He also holds the positions of founding editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Web Services Research (IJWSR, indexed by SCI, established in 2004) and the International Journal of Business Process Integration and Management (IJ BPIM, established in 2004).
His main research achievements are concentrated in artificial intelligence, service computing, internet software, digital transformation of enterprises, and the digital economy. He has published over 210 research papers, obtained more than 90 patents, and systematized the knowledge system of IEEE service computing in 2008. He has proposed innovative technologies in AI, blockchain, big data, IoT, and metaverse for enterprise applications, and integrated these findings into products and services such as IBM's SOMA-ME software platform, Kingdee Cloud, the COSIS model for digital transformation, and customer success systems in the cloud era. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to technology and innovation, including the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award in 2011 and first-class science and technology progress awards from various organizations.
Upon returning to China, he led the country's first batch of cloud computing demonstration projects and contributed to the formulation of international standards for cloud computing reference architectures. Under his guidance, over a dozen postdoctoral fellows have conducted continuous research in machine learning algorithms under 5G, 6G, and edge computing scenarios, smart analysis architectures for high-definition videos, and blockchain reference architectures for the next generation of internet paradigms.
